So It Doesn't Happen Again

Did you notice the moment you almost said something
and didn’t?
Did you notice the pause
the calculation
the decision to stay quiet because it felt safer than being honest?
Did you notice when you softened your needs
so it wouldn’t feel like too much?
Did you notice when you laughed it off
even though your body contracted?
Did you notice how often you told yourself
it’s not that big of a deal
while something in you kept shrinking?
Did you notice when you stopped bringing things up
not because they didn’t matter
but because you were tired of the potential conflict?
Did you notice when desire faded
not from lack of love
but from the ache that just couldn’t find the spark anymore?
Did you notice when you gave more than you had
and called it commitment?
Did you notice when you stopped talking to your friends about it
because saying it out loud made it too real?
Did you notice when being yourself
started to feel like betrayal?
Did you notice how often you were reaching
adjusting
waiting
explaining
minimising
hoping to be met
hoping it would change?
Do you remember the moment you realised
you weren’t quite yourself anymore?
The cost is slow.
But it is real.
Because the most common place we lose ourselves
is in relationship.
Because love is not meant to cost you yourself.
And responsibility begins with knowing where you give yourself away.
I remember each and every one of those moments.
And I remember the moment I chose differently.
I took my power back.
I found my centre.
And I committed to holding it.
Relating, Me Before We -
my eight week program exists so this doesn’t have to happen again.
This is not a group program, it's one on one, it's deeply personal to you.
With love,
Narla.
